      • About Us

Hearts For Horses is a non-profit animal welfare/educational organization located in the Sierra Mountains of Sunny California. Created in 2002 specifically to rescue and rehabilitate neglected, mistreated, and/or misunderstood horses, as well as educate the general public.

Our horses come from a variety of disciplines, each with their own unique stories, yet finding themselves at a crisis point in their lives. While some of these horses, due to their age or injury, are permanently retired, other horses that are more suitable for adoption are placed into loving forever homes, after what is usually many months to several years of continuous rehabilitative care and training.

When we accept a horse into our program, we provide nourishing food, safe shelter, veterinary care, hoof care, positive human interaction, retraining (from the horses point of view), and most of all

        Love.
